Four observations as the Mets offense explodes in series-opening win over Reds

It turns out that a trip to face the bottom-dwelling Reds might be exactly what the Mets offense needs.

After being held to four runs or fewer across their last six games, the Mets broke out in a 7-4 victory over the Reds to open their three-game series on Monday night at Great American Ball Park.

Every member of the Mets lineup reached base, while the seven runs was the most they have scored since a 10-4 win over the Marlins on June 17.
